The site is located in East Hampshire to the North of Waterlooville in the village of Cowplain. Padnell Grange is located approximately 2 miles west of the A3(M) Junction 2 via the A3 and is accessed via Padnell Road.

The site is surrounded by residential dwellings to the north, south and west, with Waterlooville Golf Course to the east. The site is located within walking distance of existing facilities including bus routes and a primary school. Local shops and services are available in nearby Cowplain.

The site is situated approximately 8.9 miles to the north of Portsmouth and approximately 27.8 miles to the east of Southampton. The nearest railway station is in Rowlands Castle approximately 4.4 miles from Cowplain.
